"John Marshall has been true to its word on serving evening students," says Danielle Niedfeldt who  graduated in January 2008. "It guaranteed me that I would earn a JD degree by attending classes at night, and I have been able to do that."

Niedfeldt earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Marquette University on an ROTC scholarship and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. She continued nursing after moving to North Carolina. When it came time to move again, Niedfeldt decided it was time to return to school.

"I'd done nursing for 14 years, so I really didn't want another nursing degree, but I did want to do something worthwhile with different opportunities. John Marshall made the decision easy for me because of its scheduling," she said.

Eight weeks after the birth of her son, Niedfeldt started law school. She was apprehensive about her decision, about leaving her baby and about what returning to school would be like.

Niedfeldt found "every class was fascinating rather than a class I would dread. After the first semester I told myself this was just meant to be."

The scheduling allowed her to have time with her son and continue her nursing position coordinating organ transplants for patients in North Carolina.  Although the calls come in at all hours, she can handle the job by phone and Internet.

 "Flexibility is really what I needed and I got that and a great education from John Marshall," she added.
