IBT LLM Program Requirements

Requirements for the Degree of Masters of Laws in the International Business and Trade Law Graduate Program

The degree of Masters of Laws in International Business and Trade Law is conferred upon successful completion of 24 semester hours of credit, including Multinational Corporations Law (3 credits), U.S. Customs and Import Law (2 credits) plus a 1-credit course in trade law, or International Trade Remedies Law , with a final cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Candidates intending to complete their requirements with an externship or an independent study project should obtain, at the beginning of the relevant semester, detailed instructions from the director. All of the requirements of the LLM degree should be completed within five years.

Students are encouraged to complete the program as quickly as possible consistent with their time constraints. A Master of Laws Degree (LLM) is conferred upon the satisfactory completion of the above requirements. The LLM Program offers concentration certificates in two areas: International Corporate and Finance Law and International Trade Law.
